2025 was a truly remarkable year for Tomasz Brzezinski EPT Malta 2025. Just a few weeks after finishing fourth in the Main Event in Barcelona, the 37-year-old Pole fulfilled his dream in Malta, winning the €5,300 buy-in EPT Malta Main Event at Casino Malta.
Brzezinski, who has lived in Malta for nearly ten years and worked in sports betting, outlasted a record-breaking 898 entrants. In a tense final duel, he defeated Ukrainian rookie Mykhailo Ostash, taking home the trophy and €631,632 after a two-handed deal.
He became only the 11th player in EPT history to reach back-to-back Main Event final tables. This victory marked a significant milestone in his poker career and capped an impressive year in his poker career. «It was incredible,» Brzezinski admitted. «At one point, I thought victory might slip away. I’d often finished second at festivals before, and sometimes it felt like I was cursed. Especially after a series of losing hands and the way the stacks evened out. But in the end, everything worked out in my favor, and I’m incredibly happy.»
Despite his string of successful performances, poker remains more of a passion than a full-time profession for him. «I used to play poker, but then I had to choose between my career and my passion. I chose the safer path, but I always found time to play. Live poker brings me much more joy than work,» he said. «I have a lot of friends who are professionals, and I learn from them, constantly studying, analyzing hands, and trying to absorb their experience as much as possible. And it seems to have started to pay off.»
